ARTISTIC ACTIVITY of J. A. MARTINEZ PORRAS (CHIRRI)

José Antonio Martínez Porras (Chirri) was born in Aberite (La Rioja, Spain ) in 1959 and very prematurely he stood out in painting. After obtaining some awards, the local artist Emilio Garcia Moreda encouraged him to start off in the paint back in the year 1975. García Moreda supervised his works, insisting on the freedom of style.

After making experiments with different materials, he finally selected the technique of the oil painting and he chose, very ready, the impossible spaces, the optic deceits and Surrealism.

In 1988 he studied at Demetrio Navaridas's studio and he stayed there only for a year.
